More Than a Standard Sexual Health Screen

The Complete Health & Sexual Health Profile is designed for people who want to look beyond STI testing alone.

While comprehensive sexual health screening is a major part of the profile, your blood sample also provides valuable information about your blood health, kidney function, liver health, inflammation, iron status and selected nutritional markers.

It may be particularly suitable if you:

  • Have a new or multiple sexual partners
  • Want regular private sexual health screening
  • Have had unprotected sexual contact
  • Want screening despite having no symptoms
  • Want testing across genital, throat and rectal sites
  • Want to combine your sexual health screen with a broader health check
  • Prefer one comprehensive appointment rather than booking multiple tests separately

One Appointment. Four Sample Types.

Your complete screening is carried out using:

  • Blood: For your general health assessment and blood-borne infection screening.
  • Urine or Vaginal/Genital Sample: For comprehensive PCR sexual health testing.
  • Throat Swab: For throat chlamydia and gonorrhoea screening.
  • Rectal Swab: For rectal chlamydia and gonorrhoea screening.

Our team will guide you through the collection process during your appointment.

Frequently asked questions

Can I have an STI without symptoms?
Yes. Some sexually transmitted infections can be present without noticeable symptoms, which is why screening can be important even when you feel completely well.
Are throat and rectal swabs included?
Yes. Both throat and rectal swabs are included as standard within this profile for chlamydia and gonorrhoea screening at those sites.
How soon after sexual contact should I get tested?
Different infections have different window periods. Testing too soon after an exposure may not reliably exclude an infection, and repeat testing may sometimes be recommended. If you are concerned about a recent significant exposure, seek appropriate clinical advice rather than waiting for routine screening.
Can all my samples be collected during one appointment?
Yes. Your blood, urine/vaginal sample, throat swab and rectal swab can all be arranged during the same appointment.
What happens if an STI result is positive?
Depending on the infection identified, appropriate clinical advice, treatment or referral may be required. Partner notification and further testing may also be recommended in certain circumstances.
Will anyone else see my results?
Your results are confidential and would not ordinarily be disclosed to another person without your permission, subject to the usual limited legal or safeguarding exceptions.
Can I book if I don't have any symptoms?
Yes. You do not need to have symptoms to book this profile.
What if I've had a very recent high-risk exposure?
If you are concerned about a recent potentially significant exposure, seek clinical advice promptly. Some interventions, including HIV post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP), are time-sensitive and should not be delayed while waiting for routine STI testing.
