Marylebone Diagnostic Centre Membership Plan
Overview
The Marylebone Diagnostic Centre Membership is designed to offer our clients a comprehensive health monitoring package, focusing on essential diagnostics that ensure proactive and preventive healthcare. This membership is tailored for individuals seeking regular monitoring of critical health parameters, particularly for those with specific health needs or planning for significant life changes such as pregnancy. The membership includes a series of essential tests and services provided at regular intervals to maintain optimal health.
What do we offer in our membership plan?
Monthly Blood Tests e.g. Thyroid Test
Why is it Needed? Thyroid function tests are crucial for assessing the performance of the thyroid gland, which plays a vital role in regulating metabolism, energy levels, and overall hormonal balance. Monthly testing is particularly important for individuals with thyroid conditions such as hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism, as it allows for close monitoring and timely adjustments in treatment. Regular testing ensures that any fluctuations in thyroid hormone levels are detected early, helping to prevent symptoms such as fatigue, weight changes, and mood swings.
Neural Tube Defect – Folate Test (6 Months Before Pregnancy)
Importance of the Test The folate test is critical for women who are planning to conceive. Folate, a type of B vitamin, is essential in the early stages of pregnancy for the proper development of the neural tube, which eventually forms the baby’s brain and spinal cord. A deficiency in folate can lead to serious birth defects, known as neural tube defects (NTDs). By ensuring adequate folate levels at least six months before conception, women can significantly reduce the risk of NTDs, supporting a healthy pregnancy and foetal development.
HbA1C Test (3 Times a Year)
What is HbA1C and Why is it Important? The HbA1C test measures the average blood sugar levels over the past three months, providing a long-term view of glucose control. This test is particularly important for individuals with diabetes or those at risk of developing diabetes, as it helps in monitoring the effectiveness of treatment plans and lifestyle changes. Regular testing three times a year allows for timely interventions, reducing the risk of complications associated with poor blood sugar control, such as cardiovascular disease, nerve damage, and kidney problems.
Additional Membership Benefits
- ECG (Electrocardiogram) Twice a Year Regular ECGs are essential for monitoring heart health, particularly in individuals with a history of heart disease or those at risk. This non-invasive test helps detect abnormalities in the heart’s rhythm and electrical activity, allowing for early diagnosis and management of potential heart conditions.
- Free Blood Pressure Checks – 15 times a year High blood pressure is a major risk factor for heart disease and stroke. Regular monitoring helps in early detection and management, reducing the risk of severe health complications.
- Free Full Blood Count (FBC) – 5 times a year The Full Blood Count is a comprehensive test that measures various components of the blood, including red blood cells, white blood cells, haemoglobin, and platelets. It helps in diagnosing conditions such as anaemia, infections, and other blood-related disorders.
- 8am to 4pm 6 days a week phone lines are open for booking and consultation.
