What happens after testing

Our involvement does not end when your results are ready.

1

Your results are reviewed

An MDC doctor will review and explain your results and discuss the next steps.

2

Further investigation, if needed

If a result needs more attention, we will help arrange the right next investigation.

3

Specialist referral, if appropriate

If specialist assessment is needed, we will help arrange a referral to our Partner Gynaecologist.

Your questions answered

Which women's health test should I start with?

The right test depends on your symptoms, medical history and what you would like to investigate. MDC offers women's health, hormone and fertility blood tests for concerns such as irregular periods, hormonal changes, fertility and general wellbeing.

If you're unsure which test is appropriate, our team can help arrange a clinical assessment. Some hormone tests require specific timing during the menstrual cycle.

Can I bring a blood test request from another clinic or doctor?

Yes. Patients can bring or send us blood test requests from their GP, gynaecologist, fertility clinic or another healthcare professional. However, to book you in, we need fresh blood results from our laboratory.

Our team will check availability, confirm pricing and explain any preparation or timing requirements. Results can also be shared securely with the referring clinician with the patient's consent.

When should I book my hormone blood tests?
Timing depends on the hormones being tested and your menstrual cycle. Some investigations may require appointments on different days. Check your test’s preparation instructions or contact MDC before booking.
Who will explain my results?
An MDC doctor will review and explain your results and discuss the next steps. If specialist assessment is needed, we will help arrange a referral to our Partner Gynaecologist.
How can I see a specialist gynaecologist through MDC?

MDC works with Dr Simone Rofena, who specialises in gynaecology, fertility and assisted conception.

Patients who require specialist assessment can contact MDC, and our team will help coordinate an appointment. We will explain the arrangements and consultation fees before confirming the booking.

With the patient's consent, relevant results and clinical information can be shared securely with the specialist.
