Carbon Reduction and Sustainability Commitment
At Marylebone Diagnostic Centre, we are deeply committed to environmental sustainability and recognise the urgent responsibility businesses hold in combating climate change. We proudly support the UK Government’s target to achieve Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050 and are actively building a meaningful framework to contribute towards this national and global goal.
Current Status
As an expanding healthcare organization, we are at the initial stages of developing a structured carbon reduction strategy. While formal carbon reporting metrics are not yet in place, we are proactively establishing the infrastructure needed to monitor and reduce our environmental footprint.
Our Objectives
- Baseline Assessment: Establish a formal baseline measurement of our carbon emissions across all operations by Q4 2024.
- Energy Efficiency: Identify, evaluate, and implement energy-saving initiatives within our facilities and operational practices.
- Low-Carbon Transport: Promote and incentivize low-carbon transportation options for staff, clients, and suppliers, including public transport use, cycling schemes, and electric vehicle support.
- Sustainable Procurement and Waste Management: Strengthen recycling efforts, reduce reliance on plastics, and prioritise the purchase of sustainable, eco-friendly materials.
- Digital Optimization: Actively limit the use of paper and physical printing by adopting electronic documentation.
Existing Actions
- We have significantly reduced printing by using scanners to convert physical documents into secure PDF files.
- Clients are encouraged to access information through online links rather than receiving printed paperwork.
- We aim to minimise plastic usage across operations and seek recyclable or reusable alternatives wherever possible.
- Internal policies prioritise sustainable resource use and limit unnecessary waste.
Commitment to Action
We are committed to publishing our first formal Carbon Reduction Plan in 2025, outlining:
- Our emissions baseline
- Annual targets for emissions reductions
- Specific initiatives and timelines for achieving measurable progress
- Continuous improvement strategies to embed sustainability into all aspects of our operations
Monitoring and Governance
Our senior management team will take full responsibility for:
- Integrating sustainability into business strategy and daily decision-making
- Monitoring progress against our environmental targets
- Reporting on our achievements and areas for improvement
- Reviewing and updating this strategy annually as part of our quality, compliance, and corporate responsibility frameworks
Through continuous improvement, transparency, and genuine action, Marylebone Diagnostic Centre is dedicated to creating a healthier environment for future generations — aligning healthcare excellence with environmental stewardship.
